Tuesday, March 10th, 2009: Victor Martinez Suffers Injury
The Cleveland Indians will lose the services of catcher Victor Martinez after he sustained a fractured hand while colliding with a player at home plate in today's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. When asked about the injury, he took a philosophical approach. "Worse things can happen in life," Martinez said. "The key now is to stay positive." His trainer said he is expected to be sidelined for the next 2 weeks.

Friday, March 6th, 2009: Chicago (N) and Cleveland Agree to Swap
The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The Chicago (N) Cubs sent $5,000,000 in cash to the Cleveland Indians for nothing.

Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal.

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009: Cleveland Trades Carmona to Chicago (N) for Kennedy
The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The Cleveland Indians sent 25-year old starting pitcher Fausto Carmona and 27-year old reliever Hong-Chih Kuo to the Chicago (N) Cubs for 24-year old starting pitcher Ian Kennedy, 25-year old center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury, 30-year old reliever Juan Cruz and 26-year old minor league first baseman Matt Craig.

Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal.

In his career Carmona has compiled an ERA of 3.33 with 38 victories and 27 defeats and has held opponents to a .250 batting average.

Lifetime Kennedy has registered a 13-9 record with a 4.91 ERA.
