Saturday, March 28th, 2009: Right Fielder Josh Hamilton Hurt
It took the Cincinnati team doctor a while to realize it, but right fielder Josh Hamilton won't simply play through a fractured ulna after he got hurt making a defensive play in today's Braves-Reds game. At first, it looked like Hamilton might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 5-6 weeks. A spokesman for the club described the loss of Hamilton as a blow, but was confident that he'd be back soon.

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008: Rangers-Reds Swap: Hamilton for Votto
The Texas Rangers have finalized a deal with the Cincinnati Reds for the services of 24-year old center fielder Drew Stubbs and 25-year old left fielder Joey Votto. In exchange, the Reds will receive 27-year old right fielder Josh Hamilton and 26-year old minor league starting pitcher Thomas Diamond.

Hamilton is batting .279 lifetime with 141 hits, 27 doubles, 3 triples, 30 home runs, 75 RBIs to date. He has also scored 83 runs.

His all-time numbers show Votto has compiled a .300 batting average and collected 142 hits, 14 home runs and 72 RBIs.
Sunday, December 14th, 2008: CL Nathan Agrees to Terms with Cincinnati Reds
Joe Nathan finalized terms with the Reds earlier today, ending speculation on his future.

The 34-year-old inked a deal estimated at $18,000,000, though reports have varied on the actual amount.

Lifetime Nathan has a 48-25 won-lost record and a 3.11 ERA with 191 saves. He has made 451 games, logged 608.2 innings and fanned 610 batters.
