Monday, March 9th, 2009: Baltimore Starting Pitcher Out
Adam Loewen and the Baltimore Orioles got a bad break in today's game against the Rangers as the team confirmed he will miss 1-2 weeks with a tender elbow. The Orioles starting pitcher suffered the injury throwing a pitch. The team doctor is confident he'll make a full recovery.

Friday, January 23rd, 2009: 2B Sanchez Signs on with Baltimore
Baltimore fans were pleased with the signing of Freddy Sanchez today. The 31-year-old inked a 4-year, $45,920,000 deal with the Orioles.

Though his numbers don't jump out at you, Sanchez does fill a void for Baltimore, according to several respected analysts.

Sanchez has played in 630 games and posted a lifetime .314 average. He has 718 hits, 182 doubles, 17 triples and 32 homers. In addition he has driven in 284 runs and scored 307 times.
Wednesday, December 10th, 2008: Chicago (N) Swaps Bedard to Baltimore for Hernandez
The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The Chicago (N) Cubs sent 29-year old starting pitcher Erik Bedard and 25-year old reliever Jim Hoey to the Baltimore Orioles for 21-year old minor league center fielder Gorkys Hernandez, 22-year old minor league second baseman Tony Thomas and 22-year old minor league reliever Allesandro Maestri.

Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal.

Bedard has a lifetime record of 51 wins and 45 losses and a 4.14 ERA.
