Wednesday, December 24th, 2008: Rangers-Reds Swap: Hamilton for Votto
The Texas Rangers have finalized a deal with the Cincinnati Reds for the services of 24-year old center fielder Drew Stubbs and 25-year old left fielder Joey Votto. In exchange, the Reds will receive 27-year old right fielder Josh Hamilton and 26-year old minor league starting pitcher Thomas Diamond.

Hamilton is batting .279 lifetime with 141 hits, 27 doubles, 3 triples, 30 home runs, 75 RBIs to date. He has also scored 83 runs.

His all-time numbers show Votto has compiled a .300 batting average and collected 142 hits, 14 home runs and 72 RBIs.
Sunday, September 21st, 2008: Kason Gabbard Will Miss 2 Weeks
Texas starting pitcher Kason Gabbard has a strained bicep tendon, suffered while throwing a pitch. He's expected to be out for 2 weeks.

This year Gabbard has posted a 12-13 mark in 36 starts and has a 4.52 ERA.
Thursday, September 18th, 2008: Saltalamacchia Will Miss 2 Weeks
Texas fans will be disappointed to learn that Jarrod Saltalamacchia developed a strained hip muscle while running the bases in today's game. After the doctor informed the Texas Rangers manager that Saltalamacchia was expected to miss 2 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the catcher could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.

To date Saltalamacchia has chalked up a .260 average with 17 home runs, driven in 65 runs and scored 52 times.
