Sunday, September 28th, 2008: Chukars Sweep Great Falls
The season came to a crashing halt for the Great Falls White Sox when the Idaho Falls Chukars beat them 7-1 today at McDermott Field to sweep the Round 2 4-0.

Fans in Idaho Falls have already begun the celebration and officials are expecting huge numbers when the championship parade takes place in a few days.

"Unbelievable for us, for our fans," the elated Chukars skipper said. "This team has worked as hard as any team ever. They deserve it. What these guys have done -- they're going to enjoy it for a long time."

This was the 1st championship for the Chukars.

Asked after the game, what it's like to lose in the Round 2, Great Falls's manager replied, "You want the results to be different." Then he added, "They simply outplayed us, they deserve it. They beat us. They're the champions."

Idaho Falls finished the season with a record of 48-28 and ranked first in the South.
Wednesday, September 24th, 2008: Duffy Fires Shutout in Chukars Win
In an almost effortless performance, Danny Duffy of the Chukars shot down the White Sox 13-0 on a 5-hit shutout.

His skipper said, "Danny was just locating so well and using his pitches...not leaving anything over the plate."

Duffy recorded 7 strikeouts and 2 walks in a strong outing.

In the postgame press conference, the Great Falls manager said, "When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game like he can and we couldn't get a key hit off him."

This year Duffy has compiled a 9-2 mark with a 3.55 ERA.
Thursday, September 11th, 2008: 5 Hits for Brewers Salome
At Kindrick Field Angel Salome was the King of Swing today in the 6-5 win over the White Sox.

The Helena catcher stepped into the batter's box 6 times against the Great Falls and delivered 5 hits.

It was a sensational game for him. He excitedly told the press, "Unbelieveable feeling. Unbelieveable. It felt good. It felt great. What a day! 5 for 6! It does wonders for your batting average, too."

A. Salome singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 11th.
