Thursday, October 9th, 2008: Springer Remains with St. Louis
St. Louis fans celebrated as word of a signing became reality. Russ Springer won't be pulling up stakes anytime soon, as he has signed a 2-year extension at a pay rate of $5,000,000 per annum.

Since he is widely seen as an integral part of the club, St. Louis officials had to keep Springer from jumping ship.

His record this season is 3-and-6 with no saves and a 4.37 ERA. Springer has given up 99 hits in 105 innings with 96 strikeouts.

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008: Pujols Cracks 5 Hits
5 hits in 5 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals had a sensational 5-5 game against Milwaukee at Busch Stadium III. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 10-3 shellacking of the Brewers.

In the postgame press conference he joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me and I did it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off...Right, skipper?"

A. Pujols hit a two-run home run off B. Sheets in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

In the 2008 season Pujols has hit .306 with 39 home runs, 83 RBIs and scored 101 runs.

Thursday, August 28th, 2008: Glaus Injured in Freak Off-Field Accident
The St. Louis Cardinals have lost third baseman Troy Glaus for 2 weeks after he suffered a strained calf muscle while running up the stairs.

Thus far this year Glaus has hit .227 with 16 home runs and 72 RBIs.
