Monday, September 1st, 2008: Jones Top NWL Pitcher in August
It was a monstrous August for the Northwest League Pitcher of the Month award winner, Beau Jones of the Spokane Indians. He put up some mighty scary numbers.

Jones recorded 3 wins and 1 loss in 6 starts. Throwing a total of 50.1 innings, he yielded 26 hits, mowed down 34 on strikes, gave up 7 walks and put up a solid ERA of 1.61 in a stellar month on the mound.

Up to now Jones has recorded a record of 6-2. In 13 starts he has fanned 70 batters in 96.1 innings with a 2.62 ERA.
Monday, August 11th, 2008: NWL Chooses Slusarz Week's Finest Player
The top-rated player in the Northwest League last week was John Slusarz. In 2 games started, the Spokane pitcher had 2 wins.

In all Slusarz had a 2-0 won-lost mark and a solid 1.69 ERA, stats good enough to pull in this week's Player of the Week award.

This year Slusarz has worked 75.1 innings with 23 strikeouts en route to a 8-2 record and a 2.63 ERA.
Monday, August 4th, 2008: Northwest League Picks Top Player
A hot-hitting week got David Peterson the Northwest League Player of the Week trophy. He really wore out his welcome with league pitchers.

The Spokane second baseman slammed them for a .478 average, 11 hits in 23 at-bats, 1 home run, 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs.

In the postgame press conference, Peterson shared his hitting philosophy with the SION scribes: "Just look for the seams and hit between them...nothin' more than that."

In 2008 Peterson has hit at a .354 clip with 52 hits, 2 home runs, 28 RBIs and has scored 23 times.
