| Breaking News |  | Sunday, October 5th, 2008: Northwest League Top Hurler Announced
Taylor Parker had a sensational 2008 season in the Northwest League. The Boise pitching machine received the most votes and has been proclaimed this year's NWL Pitcher of the Year recipient.
This season Parker starred with a 12-3 record. In 17 starts he gave up 122 base hits and struck out 68 in 114.2 innings with a 3.69 ERA.
The SION Baseball Writers Association will honor all of the award winners this weekend at its annual meeting.

| Monday, September 22nd, 2008: Hawks Win! Hawks Win!
The celebrations have begun. The streets are alive with people and the confetti is flying. The Boise Hawks have done it -- they won the 2008 Round 1. The Hawks defeated the Eugene Emeralds 2-1 at Memorial Stadium to take the title. Boise took the series 3-2 for their 1st Northwest League championship.
After the game, the victorious Hawks manager told the secret to his team's great season and Round 1 triumph, "The harder you work, the luckier you get," he said. "As far as I'm concerned, I'm the luckiest guy in the world today."
The new champions finished first in the regular season with a 54-22 record in the East Division.

| Monday, September 1st, 2008: Boise Left Fielder NWL Best Batter in August
In August, Mang Xuan let his bat do the talking for him. The Boise left fielder smacked the ball at a .385 average as he laid claim to the Northwest League Batter of the Month award.
He rapped 3 home runs, drove in 18 and scored 22 runs.
This year Xuan has hit at a .318 clip with 71 hits, 8 home runs, 41 RBIs and 38 runs scored.
