Thursday, October 9th, 2008: South Atlantic League Top Pitcher Selected
Zachary Kroenke of the Charleston RiverDogs had an extraordinary 16-6 season in 2008 and claimed the South Atlantic League SALLY Pitcher of the Year.

He started 29 times, threw 216.2 innings, while collecting 91 strikeouts and a 1.83 ERA. Kroenke allowed only 184 hits, 71 walks and a .228 batting average.

The SION Baseball Writers Association will present his trophy to him at the annual gathering this weekend.

Friday, August 29th, 2008: RiverDogs Kroenke Silences Columbus
In a knockout performance, Zachary Kroenke beat the Catfish 4-0 with an impressive 5-hit shutout.

The RiverDogs hurler finished with 1 strikeout and 2 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.

Kroenke told reporters after the game, "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working ...it don't get any better than this."

The Catfish manager said, "It was a rough one for my guys. We weren't at our best...and their guy was."

This year Kroenke has worked 204.1 innings with 82 strikeouts en route to a 15-6 record and a 1.94 ERA.
