| Breaking News | | Friday, September 26th, 2008: Round 2 to Lexington Nobody played better baseball this season than the South Atlantic League champions, the Lexington Legends.
They defeated the Lake County Captains 4-3 today at Applebee's Stadium and hauled in the Round 2 trophy for the 1st time in their history.
In regular season play, Lexington chalked up a 87-53 record and wound up first in the Northern Division. | | Sunday, September 21st, 2008: Great Stroke! Stephenson Gets 5 Hits! Jeff Stephenson exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Applebee's Stadium. The Lexington center fielder had a field day in the 13-1 triumph over the Lake County Captains, finishing up with a 5-6 day and a spot in the league record book.
"My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."
Well, Stephenson must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat.
J. Stephenson hit an RBI double in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off B. Carlin in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
Stephenson is currently batting .312 with 16 home runs and 61 RBIs. | | Saturday, September 13th, 2008: Grasshoppers Whitewash Legends, Keppel Winner Bob Keppel shut 'em down and shut 'em out, hurling Greensboro past Lexington 2-0 in a complete game victory.
He told SION sportswriters in the postgame interview, "This is a game of adjustments and I made some good ones in this game."
Keppel held the Lexington Legends without a run, tossing a 6-hitter while walking 1 and fanning 4.
To this point in the season Keppel has 13 wins and 6 losses and a 2.73 ERA. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record on the road | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 0-0, .000 PCT |
