Friday, October 10th, 2008: Pulley Selected SALLY's #1 Batter
The votes have been tallied and the winner of the South Atlantic League SALLY MVP has been named. It was awarded earlier today to Matthew Pulley from Delmarva for his great year at the plate.

He put up some impressive numbers, including a .333 batting average and .402 on-base percentage this year while racking up 34 doubles, 1 triple, 23 home runs, 86 RBIs and 83 runs scored.

For being named the SALLY's premier hitter Pulley will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend.

Monday, September 1st, 2008: Pulley Captures SALLY Batter of Month Award
His solid numbers speak for themselves. That's why Matthew Pulley of the Delmarva Shorebirds was named the South Atlantic League's best batter in August.

The Delmarva catcher starred with a .346 batting average, 4 home runs and 22 RBIs.

Pulley on the season is hitting .335 with 22 home runs. His stats include 81 RBIs and 78 runs scored.

Monday, September 1st, 2008: Week's Top Performer Honored by SALLY
Sandy Madera went on a week-long batting spree against South Atlantic League pitchers and hauled in the Player of the Week trophy.

The Delmarva catcher battered the opposition for 13 hits in 24 at-bats, 1 home run, 4 RBIs and scored 7 runs. He hit .542 and posted a .593 on-base percentage.

Madera has a .283 average and a .335 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 132 hits, 7 home runs and driven in 56 runs.
