Patrick Green allowed 5 hits while giving up 1 walk and collecting 5 strikeouts as Burlington blanked Quad Cities 5-0.
In the postgame interview Green said, "I'm trying to keep the ball down and let guys put it in play. It worked for me today."
On his stats sheet this season Green shows a 15-11 record, 29 starts, 216.1 innings, 127 strikeouts and a 2.62 ERA.

Trevor Cahill of the Kane County Cougars was in command from start to finish in his 1-0 shutout win over the Quad Cities Swing. He struck out 7, walked 1 and allowed 4 hits.
"I felt strong the entire game," Cahill said. "I felt like I had my good stuff. It was just one of those games when everything was working."
His record in 2008 is 10-10 in 31 starts and Cahill has a 2.39 ERA.

 | Sunday, August 31st, 2008: 5-Hits Blitz by Van Slyke
Today at Davenport Municipal Stadium A.J. Van Slyke put on an impressive display of hitting -- the Quad Cities first baseman tagged Peoria pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on his batting spree and lost the game to the Chiefs by the score of 10-8.
"Hey, the loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it. 5-5 ain't bad in any league."
Despite the terrific performance, Van Slyke remained somewhat somber. "Sure, I'm happy with my performance today," he was quoted as saying in the locker room, "But all that really matters in this game is that number in the win column. We just didn't get it done today."
A. Van Slyke singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This season Van Slyke has hit at a .269 clip with 61 RBIs, 11 home runs and 68 runs scored.
