| Breaking News | | Sunday, September 7th, 2008: Green Fires Shutout in Burlington Win
Patrick Green allowed 5 hits while giving up 1 walk and collecting 5 strikeouts as Burlington blanked Quad Cities 5-0.
In the postgame interview Green said, "I'm trying to keep the ball down and let guys put it in play. It worked for me today."
On his stats sheet this season Green shows a 15-11 record, 29 starts, 216.1 innings, 127 strikeouts and a 2.62 ERA.

 | Thursday, September 4th, 2008: Kniginyzky Fires Shutout in Burlington Victory
The Cedar Rapids Kernels were almost helpless today in their 4-0 loss to Burlington hurler Matthew Kniginyzky. He kept them confused the entire ballgame and spun a 6-hit shutout.
The Cedar Rapids manager said in the postgame interview, "Tip your hat to Kniginyzky. He kept us off balance all night."
Kniginyzky said, "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play. It was just one of those games that things went my way."
He had no walks and 7 strikeouts in a strong performance.
Kniginyzky in 2008 has fashioned a 13-12 mark, 3.07 ERA and thrown 219.2 innings in 30 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .262 against him.

 | Saturday, August 30th, 2008: Cahill Tosses Shutout
In a splendid 3-0 shutout performance, Trevor Cahill of the Kane County Cougars subdued the Burlington Bees on a 5-hitter.
His manager said in postgame comments, "He kept hitting his spots and putting up zeroes."
Cahill registered 4 strikeouts and 1 walk.
Cahill has made 30 starts, tossed 206 innings, struck out 151 batters and walked 91. His record is 9-10 with a 2.49 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .227 batting average.
