Monday, August 25th, 2008: Purcey Shackles Lakeland
Dunedin hurler David Purcey was at his best as he whitewashed the Lakeland Flying Tigers 5-0 today.

"He just kept the ball down, did a good job, made his pitches," said the Lakeland manager. "We didn't do a good job making adjustments, so we helped him out a little bit."

Purcey fired a 3-hitter and totaled 7 strikeouts and 3 walks in the shutout performance.

Currently Purcey has a record of 8-11 with 158 strikeouts and 48 walks in 197 innings and a 3.56 ERA.
