Wednesday, October 8th, 2008: Agustin Septimo Chosen FSL's #1 Batter
Agustin Septimo, the gifted Jupiter shortstop, really got the attention of the Florida State League pitchers this past season. He battered them for 173 hits in 533 at-bats, 12 doubles, 4 triples, 15 home runs, 68 RBIs and scored 88 times.

That kind of hitting earned him the Florida State League FSL MVP for 2008.

Septimo will get his trophy at the SBWA awards banquet this weekend.

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008: Jupiter Hammerheads Take Round 2
The 2008 Florida State League season came to a close today at Roger Dean Stadium, where the Jupiter Hammerheads whipped the Clearwater Threshers 2-0 and won their 1st Round 2 in history.

Jupiter got there by compiling a 81-59 mark during regular season play and claiming the second spot in the East Division standings.

The Hammerheads won the series 4-2 in games.

Saturday, September 20th, 2008: Thompson Tosses Shutout Against Clearwater
Jupiter was pleased to see so many goose eggs up on the scoreboard today as Aaron Thompson blanked Clearwater 6-0. He stopped them on 5 hits with no walks and 5 strikeouts.

His skipper said, "Once he gets in a groove, he can be dynamite. He was on top of his game in this one."

This season Thompson has fanned 171 in 201.2 innings and collected a 11-12 record with a 3.08 ERA.
