Thursday, November 20th, 2008: Nationals Trade Plasencia to Twins for Willits
A trade between the Washington Nationals and the Minnesota Twins was made official this morning. The Washington Nationals have sent 35-year old minor league second baseman Damian Jackson, 24-year old minor league center fielder Francisco Plasencia, 26-year old minor league catcher Devin Ivany and 22-year old minor league shortstop Ian Desmond to the Minnesota Twins in exchange for 25-year old catcher Jeff Clement and 27-year old center fielder Reggie Willits.

Sunday, October 5th, 2008: Command Performance! Buehrle No-Hits Minnesota!
In a dominant outing, Mark Buehrle of Chicago (A) totally silenced the bats of the Minnesota Twins. In the 2-0 victory he faced only 29 batters, surrendered no hits, had 2 strikeouts and 2 walks.

"I'll be very honest with you," his manager said. "I didn't know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning. I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had. Then I happened to notice that they didn't have any hits."

Commenting on his defeat, the losing manager told reporters in the clubhouse how he saw the game, "Well, it was pretty simple today, the White Sox had all the hits and all the runs. And Buehrle pitched a heck of ballgame."

To date in 2008, Buehrle sports a 18-10 mark with a 3.94 ERA in 36 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .281 batting average and has 156 strikeouts in 251.1 innings.
