Wednesday, September 24th, 2008: Pujols Cracks 5 Hits
5 hits in 5 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals had a sensational 5-5 game against Milwaukee at Busch Stadium III. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 10-3 shellacking of the Brewers.

In the postgame press conference he joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me and I did it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off...Right, skipper?"

A. Pujols hit a two-run home run off B. Sheets in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

In the 2008 season Pujols has hit .306 with 39 home runs, 83 RBIs and scored 101 runs.
Monday, September 1st, 2008: Player of the Week: Milwaukee Right Fielder
The #1 hitter in the National League was Milwaukee right fielder Corey Hart. He was selected the Player of the Week.

During the week Hart banged out a .429 batting average (12-28), 4 home runs, 6 runs batted in and scored 10 runs.

Hart is hitting .283 in 2008 with 27 home runs, 73 RBIs and 81 runs scored. He has 137 hits in 484 at-bats and played in 121 games.
Friday, August 29th, 2008: Hart On Fire! 5-5 for Milwaukee!
Corey Hart exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Miller Park. The Milwaukee right fielder had a field day in the 9-7 triumph over the Florida Marlins, finishing up with a 5-5 day and a spot in the league record book.

"My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Well, Hart must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat.

C. Hart singled in the 1st, tripled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off C. Martinez in the 8th.

This season Hart is swinging the bat at a .287 pace. He has hit 27 home runs and scored 79 times, while driving in 73. His on-base percentage is .337 and he has played in 119 games.
