Somedays you can't win for losing. Just ask Jorge Sandes. He was the King of Swing in the game against the Giants, but his Nuts were beaten 8-5 anyway.
The Modesto left fielder stepped into the batter's box 5 times against the San Jose and delivered 5 hits.
It was a sensational game for him. He excitedly told the press, "Unbelieveable feeling. Unbelieveable. It felt good. It felt great on the one hand, but a downer at the same time. What a day! 5 for 5! It does wonders for your batting average. But it's a shame we couldn't win it, too."
J. Sandes singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off R. Paul in the 8th.
Sandes is batting .435 this year with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He has 50 hits in 115 at-bats.

"I felt great out there. After the second or third inning, I got real comfortable," Jose Valdez said in his postgame interview. "Hopefully this is a building block for me. I'm hoping for a few more starts like this."
The San Jose hurler scored a 4-0 shutout victory over the Oaks, stopping them on 5 hits. He rung up 5 strikeouts and gave up 1 walk in today's performance.
To date this year in 27 starts, Valdez has crafted a 9-10 mark with a 3.10 ERA.

San Jose rode the magical arm of Jose Valdez in a 3-0 shutout win over Inland Empire. He shackled them on 5 hits and fanned 9. Almost to a man, the Inland Empire 66ers said he had them guessing wrong all game long.
