| Breaking News | | Sunday, October 5th, 2008: TEX Gives Outstanding Pitcher Award
A good season has become great one for Frisco Rough Riders star pitcher Brennan Garr.
A standout 19-6 record and impressive 2.72 ERA has brought Garr the 2008 Texas League TEX Pitcher of the Year.
He started 28 times, tossed 215.1 innings and fanned 137 batters along the way as opponents hit only .226 against him.
The SION Baseball Writers Association will present his trophy to Garr at the annual gathering this weekend.

Two titans went head-to-head in this year's Texas League Round 2 and only one was left standing at the end -- the Springfield Cardinals.
In the deciding game today at Hammons Field, they KO'ed the Frisco Rough Riders 3-2 to cop their 1st league title.

When Brennan Garr takes the mound, a Frisco victory is usually the result. At least that's the way it was in May.
He excelled with a 5-1 mark and a 2.40 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 45 innings, fanned 36 and held opposing batters to a .228 average.
That's why the Rough Riders starter was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the Texas League.
In the current season in 26 starts, Brennan Garr has a record of 17-6 with 124 strikeouts in 200 innings and a 2.79 ERA.
