Monday, September 1st, 2008: Mississippi's Starter Receives SL Pitching Award
When Adam Stanley takes the hill, chances are good for a Mississippi victory. At least that's the way it was in May.

He excelled with a 6-1 mark and 1.70 ERA in 8 starts, tossed 58.1 innings, fanned 44 and held others clubs to a .183 average.

That's why the Braves star was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the Southern League.

Currently Stanley has a 11-13 won-lost record in 29 starts with a 3.54 ERA. He also has 147 strikeouts in 183 innings.

Saturday, August 9th, 2008: Jones Puts Spell on Mississippi
Mike Jones really wowed everybody at the ballpark with his 1-0 shutout victory over Mississippi today. The Huntsville pitcher mystified the Braves in a strong performance. He gave up 3 hits and totaled 1 walk and 6 strikeouts.

His manager said, "Mike had them chasing a lot of pitches and turning around and saying 'wow' . . . we were thinking the same thing, too. It was something special to watch."

In season stats Jones shows a 7-9 record in 18 games, 106 innings, 82 strikeouts and a 3.65 ERA.
