Monday, August 18th, 2008: Dlugach Earns EL Player of the Week
The Eastern League has made it official -- Brent Dlugach is this week's winner of the Player of the Week Award.

The Erie shortstop was sensational with a .520 batting average, no home runs and 3 RBIs. Dlugach also had 2 walks and posted a .571 on-base percentage.

This year Dlugach has 4 home runs and a .263 batting average.

Friday, August 8th, 2008: Soriano Blanks Erie
Julio Soriano of the Bowie BaySox shut down the Erie Seawolves 4-0 on an excellent 5-hitter, holding them scoreless while ringing up 2 strikeouts and allowing 2 walks.

After the game Soriano said, "Guys have been fouling off a lot of pitches lately and I've been getting into too many deep pitch counts, but I'm pleased with the way things went today. I went right after them and stayed ahead in the count."

In 5 starts this season Soriano has chalked up a 2-2 record and a 5.00 ERA.
