| Breaking News | | Saturday, September 6th, 2008: Curve Holds BaySox Scoreless "Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad batting.
In his postgame interview the Bowie manager said, "Brad Lincoln made us look real bad today. He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Lincoln had 5 strikeouts, 2 walks and allowed only 3 hits as the Altoona Curve whitewashed the Bowie BaySox 5-0.
In 2008 Lincoln has compiled a 11-8 mark with a 2.88 ERA in 26 starts. In pitching 178 innings he has 89 strikeouts and 55 walks while limiting the opposition to a .210 batting average. | | Thursday, August 28th, 2008: Cash 5-5 Against Altoona There are moments in a player's career that are etched into their memories forever. David Cash of the Bowie BaySox had one of those moments when he went 5 for 5 at the plate today in the 8-3 win over the Altoona Curve at Prince George's Stadium.
The 22-year-old second baseman told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day...enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe."
D. Cash singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off M. Nannini in the 8th.
In 2008 Cash is hitting .254, batted in 49 runs with 4 home runs and 40 runs scored. | | Friday, August 8th, 2008: Soriano Blanks Erie Julio Soriano of the Bowie BaySox shut down the Erie Seawolves 4-0 on an excellent 5-hitter, holding them scoreless while ringing up 2 strikeouts and allowing 2 walks.
After the game Soriano said, "Guys have been fouling off a lot of pitches lately and I've been getting into too many deep pitch counts, but I'm pleased with the way things went today. I went right after them and stayed ahead in the count."
In 5 starts this season Soriano has chalked up a 2-2 record and a 5.00 ERA. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record on the road | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 0-0, .000 PCT |
