In the Senators 10-1 win over Akron, Rogearvin Bernadina was red-hot today, scorching them for hit after hit at Commerce Bank Park.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax. I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I must admit, I got too much adrenaline going when I realized that this was a special once-in-a-lifetime chance for the record book. On the last hit, I was ready to swing at anything close, I was that excited. That's why my third base coach called time and told me, 'Calm down and wait for a good pitch.' That got me back on track and I nailed the first one in the strike zone."
On his record-setting day Bernadina delivered 5 hits in 5 at-bats, a day he will not soon forget.
R. Bernadina doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run triple in the 8th.
This season Bernadina is hitting .281 with 3 home runs. |  | Saturday, August 16th, 2008: Wright Shuts Out Trenton Steven Wright of the Akron Aeros was lights out in a 2-hit whitewash of the Trenton Thunder.
He told SION reporters, "I had my good stuff and it went where I wanted it to go."
He registered 3 strikeouts and 2 walks in shutting out Trenton 4-0.
