Wednesday, August 27th, 2008: Ohlendorf Holds Sea Dogs Scoreless
Ross Ohlendorf of the Trenton Thunder was masterful today, pitching a 4-hit 9-0 shutout against the Portland Sea Dogs and giving his bullpen a rest by going the the distance.

According to his manager, "He had command of every ball and every pitch . . . great location, too." Ohlendorf had 6 strikeouts and issued 1 walk in an impressive outing.

This season Ohlendorf has worked 187 innings with 124 strikeouts en route to a 11-6 record and a 2.36 ERA.

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008: Portland Humbled by Thunder
Trenton's Steven Jackson brought his "A game" to the park, shutting down and shutting out the Portland Sea Dogs 1-0. He racked up 9 strikeouts, surrendered 1 hit and issued no walks on his way to the victory.

This season to date, Jackson has fashioned a 8-13 mark and 3.24 ERA in 197 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .244 against him and he has logged 136 strikeouts.

Monday, August 25th, 2008: Trenton Second Baseman Nets EL Award
Pitchers who faced the Trenton Thunder last week were happy to see Bernie Castro in the rear view mirror. The 29-year-old second baseman was dubbed the Eastern League Player of the Week for a 6-game tear that saw him hit at a .444 clip.

For the week He also chalked up 12 hits in 27 at-bats, no home runs, 7 RBIs and 5 runs scored.

In 117 games Castro is hitting .272 this season for the Thunder with 134 hits, no home runs, 30 RBIs, 33 walks, .331 OBP and has scored 54 runs .
