Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008: Crabbe Agrees to 1-Year Pact with Kansas City Royals
Fans of Callix Crabbe and the Royals have much to rejoice about as the talented second baseman scribbled his signature on a $3,960,000 deal this afternoon that will keep him in Kansas City for 1 year.

Seen as an up-and-comer, Crabbe will no doubt enhance Kansas City's chances to go to the playoffs on an annual basis.

Thursday, September 4th, 2008: Francis Blanks Kansas City
Minnesota pitcher Jeff Francis blanked the Kansas City Royals 10-0, tossing a 6-hitter while issuing 1 walk and collecting 8 strikeouts.

After his sharp shutout performance, he said that he gives a lot of the credit to his batterymate. "Me and him are just locked in out there. He's so great at having a feel for hitters. I couldn't do what I'm doing without him."

To date in 2008, Francis sports a 11-3 mark with a 3.48 ERA in 18 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .268 batting average and has 98 strikeouts in 139.2 innings.

Monday, August 4th, 2008: Royals Lose Jimmy Gobble
Watching Jimmy Gobble getting helped off the field today at Kauffman Stadium, fans of the Kansas City Royals feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the reliever will miss 1-2 weeks with dead arm syndrome. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Gobble suffered the injury throwing a pitch in the game against the White Sox.

Thus far this season Gobble has claimed 3 saves and registered a 1-3 record with a 4.01 ERA. He has 43 relief appearances, pitched 51.2 innings and struck out 51.
