| Breaking News | | Thursday, March 19th, 2009: Florida Loses Dan Uggla The Florida Marlins will have to make do without Dan Uggla for 2 weeks. He suffered a bruised wrist while running the bases in the game today against the Cincinnati Reds. His teammates, understandably, were upset about losing the second baseman. "That's a tough break for him," one of them said. "But this team is resilient. We will just fill in until he gets back." Uggla will miss 2 weeks.
| | Friday, August 29th, 2008: Hart On Fire! 5-5 for Milwaukee! Corey Hart exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Miller Park. The Milwaukee right fielder had a field day in the 9-7 triumph over the Florida Marlins, finishing up with a 5-5 day and a spot in the league record book.
"My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."
Well, Hart must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat.
C. Hart singled in the 1st, tripled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off C. Martinez in the 8th.
This season Hart is swinging the bat at a .287 pace. He has hit 27 home runs and scored 79 times, while driving in 73. His on-base percentage is .337 and he has played in 119 games. | | Friday, August 29th, 2008: Milwaukee Hart Gets the Cycle Corey Hart produced one of the rarest feats in baseball today when he hit for the cycle against the Florida Marlins in the Milwaukee 9-7 win Miller Park.
Afterward, Hart acknowledged that his accomplishment was special, but he was more interested in helping the Brewers just win some ballgames. At the postgame press conference, he said, "Maybe one day I'll look back on this day with more meaning, but right now I just want to come out tomorrow and put some good swings on the ball, get a few hits and help my club win another game."
On his historic day, he went 5-5 with 1 run batted in and 3 runs scored -- and also got a spot in the league record books. Maybe one day way down the road he will get out the record book and reminisce about his extra special day in baseball.
C. Hart singled in the 1st, tripled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off C. Martinez in the 8th.
Hart is currently hitting at a .287 pace with 27 home runs and 73 RBIs. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record on the road | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 0-0, .000 PCT |
