Sunday, August 31st, 2008: Wilson Sensational, 5-5
It was a hits blitz for Josh Wilson at Victory Field. The Indianapolis Indians shortstop tore into Columbus for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace Indians to a 11-9 victory and wrote his name into the baseball record book.

The manager for the Clippers bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today." He added, "Not to take anything away from Wilson, but bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game."

J. Wilson doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and singled in the 9th.

Wilson is presently batting .252 with 4 home runs, 45 runs scored and 48 RBIs. His OBP is .302.

Friday, August 22nd, 2008: Razor-Sharp Maloney Blanks Columbus
Matt Maloney pitched a strong game in blanking the Columbus Clippers 5-0, allowed no runs on 3 hits, totaled 10 strikeouts and gave up no walks.

The Louisville manager said he could tell right away it was going to be a good game for Maloney. "Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," he said. "He threw a lot of strikes."

This year Maloney has a 7-8 mark in 29 starts with a 4.02 ERA. He has given up 210 hits in 190.1 innings, struck out 120 and issued 50 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .278 batting average against him.
