Wednesday, September 17th, 2008: Richmond Befuddled by Litsch
"He was kind of teasing them with his offspeed stuff and his fastball was moving everywhere," the Syracuse skipper said in postgame comments after Jesse Litsch had shut out the Richmond Braves 2-0 on a 2-hit masterpiece.

Litsch numbered 7 strikeouts and issued no walks in a gem of a performance.

"We just didn't swing the bats very well . . . or he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," complained the Richmond manager after the defeat.

To date this season, Litsch has a record of 18 wins and 14 losses and a 3.90 ERA. He has appeared in 34 games and struck out 116 in 228.1 innings.

Friday, August 29th, 2008: Reliever Erik Cordier Out
Erik Cordier of the Richmond Braves could be headed for the disabled list after suffering a tender elbow in a game against the Durham Bulls. He is expected to miss at least 1-2 weeks. The Richmond reliever was injured throwing a pitch. Cordier said, "Right now I am pretty sore and I don't feel very good at all."

So far this season, in no relief appearances Cordier has compiled an ERA of 3.62. He has pitched 131.2 innings, struck out 74, walked 44 and registered no saves.

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008: Bennett Too Tough, Blanks Durham
"Jeff Bennett is really a good pitcher when he throws strikes early in the count," said his manager after the Richmond hurler tossed a complete game 5-hit shutout against the Durham Bulls.

"I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said Bennett. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings."

Bennett walked 3 and struck out 6 in the 4-0 victory.

His record this year is 14-7 in 26 starts and Bennett has a 2.47 ERA.
