_Yankees.jpg) | Thursday, August 28th, 2008: Fukudome's Career May Be Over The expression on his face said it all when right fielder Kosuke Fukudome was injured in a game against Seattle. You could tell that this was no minor injury. Fukudome was examined quickly by the team doctor and immediately rushed to the local hospital. After several tests, the diagnosis was blurred vision, and in this case, it means his career is over. The New York (A) Yankees issued the following statement: "It is with great sadness to see Kosuke leave the game so soon. He was a great competitor and teammate and we are sure he will stick around in some capacity with our team." Presently Fukudome is batting .281 and has collected 12 home runs, 61 RBIs, .377 OBP and scored 72 runs. |
