Sunday, April 5th, 2009: Major League Baseball News: Opening Day
Infields and outfields are manicured to perfection.
The old ball yard has been refurbished, spruced up, and freshly painted.
Baseball is back in town and it's about darn time!
It is Opening Day for Major League Baseball.
The fans, players, and teams are all poised for another great season of baseball.

It all gets under way with this slate of games:

Cleveland Indians @ Kansas City Royals
Saturday, March 28th, 2009: Mets Shortstop Hurt
New York (N) fans will be disappointed to learn that Jose Reyes developed back spasms while throwing the ball in today's game. After the doctor informed the New York (N) Mets manager that Reyes was expected to miss 1-2 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the shortstop could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.

Saturday, March 28th, 2009: Right Fielder Josh Hamilton Hurt
It took the Cincinnati team doctor a while to realize it, but right fielder Josh Hamilton won't simply play through a fractured ulna after he got hurt making a defensive play in today's Braves-Reds game. At first, it looked like Hamilton might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 5-6 weeks. A spokesman for the club described the loss of Hamilton as a blow, but was confident that he'd be back soon.
